I am not able to reproduce it with the following (MacOS 12.6.1 - Apple Silicon):

  • node 19.1.0, npm 8.19.3
  • node 19.1.0, npm 9.1.2
  • node 19.1.0, yarn 1.22.19

Yep, same here. I couldn't npm install realm on node 19.2, downgrading to 18.2 worked. Thanks.

Just wanted to leave a comment here that we are seeing this as well. We're using yarn. Did a clean complete reinstall of the OS and when we run a yarn install on our RN mobile app, it hangs on "realm". Downgrading to node 18.2 seems to work.

Trying to do npm install realm for an Electron App with React and also hangs on reify:realm:

I'm on v19.3.0, and can confirm that it hangs on reify:realm.

I am not able to reproduce it on my laptop (MacOS 12.6.2, M1) with node 19.4.0 and yarn 1.22.19. I have manually checked the downloaded binary (node_modules/realm/build/Release/realm.node) to verify it exists and is a shared library for ARM64.

Having same issue but it fixed after I removed node 19.4.0 and installed node 14.21.2

I am using node 19.3.0 and getting stuck at npm install realm (OS: popOS)

this is the line that I am getting stuck at:

As I am not able to reproduce it, I would like to know more about which versions, you are using (npm, etc.) and other dependencies.

@ElicaInc

faced the same issue on node 19, but works fine on node v18.14.2

As documented here (#5547 (comment)) I am running into this on Windows 11 with Node 19.7 and NPM 9.6 (also happened with NPM 8). It seems that it may be hanging on the step for "submit-analytics.js" 🤷‍♂️

I have same issue with node 19.3.0. Installing 18.15.0 fixed it
