Are there any cases where

let hir_id = tcx.(opt_)local_def_id_to_hir_id(def_id);
tcx.(opt_)hir_node(hir_id);

could be replaced with

tcx.(opt_)hir_node_by_def_id(def_id);

?

(I.e. where hir_id is only evaluated to be passed to hir_node.)

I also suspect that many opt_hir_node(_by_def_id)s across the compiler can be replaced with non-optional hir_node(_by_def_id)s, but that's a separate task, not for this PR.
