About Oleg #445
Comments
Sangria is one of the very first GitHub project I participated and Oleg was like a mentor to me. I never had the chance to meet him in person. My deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and colleagues. He will live forever in our hearts and through his code, his craft, his legacy. |
@OlegIlyenko quickly chimed in to offer me advice on more than a few occasions when I was getting started with Scala, and I've always been grateful for his help. What a devastating loss to his family, friends, and the development community around him. |
I’m incredibly saddened by this, Oleg’s work and Sangira, the reference Scala GraphQL lib was super inspiring to me and his approach was spotless. We’re missing an amazing developer and a person. I hope his legacy endures in time. Condolences to his family and colleagues. RIP @EasyAngel / @OlegIlyenko😢 |
Very sad to hear this..... |

Hello, I’m Yann, a colleague of Oleg Ilyenko (@OlegIlyenko), the maintainer of Sangria.
It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Oleg has passed away. He was a valued friend and colleague of ours since 2013.
This is truly a great loss to our company and to the Sangria and Scala community as a whole.
Oleg will be profoundly missed by everyone.
