Wednesday Meeting, 2016 11 16
- Olexandr Konovalov
- Chris Russell
- Fernando Flores Brito
- Luke Elliott
- Michael Torpey
- Wilf Wilson
Apologies from James Mitchell and Isabella Scott, who couldn't make this week's meeting due to other engagements.
We started with an update from Olexandr on the progress of GAP, and related information:
GAP 4.8.6 was released yesterday. Smallsemi was broken in GAP 4.8.5, and this is fixed by the new release. The new release contains other bugfixes, including fifteen package updates. Alternative distributions (Docker, homebrew) are not updated yet, but updates will come later.
Registration is now open for the Computational Mathematics with Jupyter workshop on 16-20 January. This will have a format similar to previous SageMath days and GAP days.
For those interested in Docker, the Software Sustainability Institute intends to organise a "Docker for Scientific Computing" workshop in 2017, though final details are not known yet.
Olexandr left at 14:25.
We all discussed what we've been working on and what we're doing this afternoon:
- Chris Russell -- Working on E-unitary inverse semigroups
- Fernando Flores Brito -- Re-checking algorithm for random identities
- Luke Elliott --
IsEulerianDigraph
function (nearly finished!) - Michael Torpey -- Work related to the next release of Digraphs
- Wilf Wilson -- Work related to the next release of Digraphs
We continued, largely reviewing and merging pull requests and tidying up code in Digraphs.
The meeting ended at around 17:00.
