AssetThere is several different translations of the single "asset" concept in SnipeIT, today. I recall finding, at least :
I suggest using "actif" as an official translation as of now, and adding it to the glossary. |

Check out/inThis one is a tricky one. Despite being pretty central in this software. I've found at least :
I'm uncertain here. "Associer/dissocier" is already used in the most common buttons and interfaces, and users are probably already familiar with it. However I feel that assigner/désassigner would work better. Keeping and generalizing the already most-used might be the way to go, here. |

ConsumablesHalf of this word's occurrences are translated as "consommables", which is correct. The other half are translated as "fourniture", which is quite misleading. A laptop-protective backpack provided to workers is absolutely a "fourniture" in french, but it is certainly not a consumable, and should probably be handled as an accessory. The best translation here is probably the simplest : consumable(s) = consommable(s) |

SeatMainly used to talk about licenses checkout to people. A given license has a given number of seats, that can be assigned to max. one person each. There is no exact french translation for this, as far as I'm aware. In the current translation, we can find at least :

BulkSo simple and yet so inconsistent. So far, I have found the following translations :
"(en) volume" seems to be the best option here, but feel free to suggest other shorter and meaningful translations. |

EULAThe EULA (End User License Agreement) is a contractual-value document describing the terms and conditions one must accept before installing/using a given piece of hardware/software. Currently, SnipeIT seems to use only the short form "EULA". The fully phrased form seems totally absent from localized strings. So far, I've seen this term translated as :

Greetings !
This discussion topic aims at improving the overall french translation. I'm creating it with the hope of meeting other french SnipeIT users, in order to coordinate efforts for a better and more consistent french translation.
As of today, most if not all of the original strings do have a french translation, making it possible to use SnipeIT as is, without any knowledge of any other language. However, you might have encountered here and there some inconsistencies. A given word or concept is translated differently from one interface to the other. Most of the time, these inconsistencies come from the fact that translation is made out of context, through CrowdIn.
My hope is that we can set up a glossary of "official" french translations of core SnipeIT terms and concepts. This way, we can slowly move toward a more consistent and unified translation, which will be easier to use and understand for our coworkers.
I'll edit the glossary bellow as we go, the discussion can subsequently follow a natural path using replys and threads.
