location connected to company

Hello

would like to see that locations are conneted to Companies (if that is active).
Currently we are using multi company mode.
They should be (I think :) ) always connected to company, even there is no multi company it should work same way always. Every company can have many locations and sub locations.
It is more and more important as assets are not anymore in the main building, but different locations and today it is very very hard to use the locations if you have multi company activated.

Company A
--- main location (company address)
---sub location (like serveroom)
--- main location B (other office)
sub location 2 (serverroom nr 2)
---remote work
--- sub location (user a, assets a) etc
etc

• Security side every company should see only is locations. Assets can be in different locations, but locations are usually connected the company because company owns all the assets.
• From assets view I would like to see that we can run filter per location (customers who located on same address) or locate all assets what that company have in location X.
• If there is no multi company mode then locations are just connected to one main company but should work same way ( think that part is ok even today).
• Checkout should work for location and/or for user - as we have today remote work then asset must be connected with users, but location should be remote work for example.
• API must be active which we give us option import/export correct locations from ERP or other systems. Today we are using it, but it is very limited.

Company object should have option to add custom fields to make it easier to work via API (thats are request).
