Cancel and back buttons on edit forms now take you back properly
FYI, it wasn't an accident the way this was handled originally. Your addition isn't bad, but it does create an inconsistent user experience. Since the user can click edit from the listing (index) view or the details view, "Back" doesn't actually always mean back to where they were before, since we don't know which way they arrived at that page. I think the better UX here will be to change the labels on the buttons, so that "Back" is less nebulous, if we're going to have it behave differently based on whether or not there is an ID passed. |
Looks like @uberbrady is about to file a ticket that touches on this same concept, for checkin and checkout, so I think the real UX problem we're trying to solve here can be universally solved by tracking the path of the user, and then determining where we need to send them from there. |
