Unhandled exception when trying to expand the database

New install (first time using) on Win10 Enterprise. Application launches and I sign in. Then when I try to expand the database I get:

What "Server Type" did you choose in the connection box?

Default Orion (v3). Our Solarwinds servers are on a different AD domain than my laptop and if I select Orion (v3) AD, it won't let me manually specify different AD creds.

Same error using Orion (v2). Sometimes despite giving the error it still expands the database.

Also same error if I provide the Orion Admin credentials instead of using my domain account.

Are you, by any chance, double-clicking on the "database" tree node?

That would appear to be the case. If I click the expand box instead of double clicking, no error.
