This is just a continuation of the general cleanup of the script and the push for cross-platform support. I have cleaned up my use of manually written file paths and instead opted for OS agnostic file paths, so any OS should work now. I have also cleaned up some redundant functions. However, this offers basically no performance improvement over the previous changes.
