Use the webkit-transform CSS extension in the carousel where available, since it gives a smoother animation on desktop Safari, Chrome and especially on iOS Safari

Switched to checking for -webkit-transform-3d instead of plain -webkit-transform since the latter is incorrectly shown as unsupported in Chrome 19.0.1036.7
