ORAC History

ORAC was initially developed from the Enhanced Cloud Processor developed for Meteosat Second Generation by P. Watts. Various versions of ORAC have been used to produce aerosol and cloud datasets:

• V1-3 'GRAPE' Code for aerosol and cloud. Used to produce the GRAPE V1-3 datasets.
• V3b 'GLOBAEROSOL' Code for aerosol only. Used to produce the GlobAEROSOL dataset.
• V4a 'CCI' Code for cloud.

The development and implementation of ORAC has been funded by a number of agencies and projects. These include:
