Where Do You Come From?

I was “discovered” by Eric Ryan Harrison sometime between 1984 and 2010. I don’t know when he actually discovered me; he’s never mentioned it to me. Anyway, so Eric and I were good friends for a while.

One day, he comes up to me and says, “Hey there PHPainfree. You’re pretty awesome. Is it OK if I tell some people about you?”

I thought about it for a little while before telling him that I was fine with it. Next thing I know, he goes and posts an article about me on his bloggity website and then just up and decides that everyone needed to be able to get to know me.

Now, I’m a friendly enough sort of Framework, but I felt a little uncomfortable about being available for anyone to just come along and be my friend. Unfortunately, right around that same time some group of knuckleheads decided that personal privacy wasn’t important to anyone on the internet anymore and made some change to MyFaceBooker.com or something that made everyone know everything about everyone… I forget where I was going with this…

Hrrm, whatever. So anyway, somewhere along this timeline of craziness, Eric comes to me and tells me that he’s got some other things to take care of and that he’s got a family now and can’t spend all his time with me like he used to. He still wanted to “be friends” but that we couldn’t be as close as we used to be.

And then he told me I’d have to find someplace else to live.

Moving Day

I finally found a nice little place in a posh new apartment complex called “The GitHub”. The brochure said there would be a swimming pool, but I guess they haven’t gotten around to it yet or something.

Anyway, so that’s me. I’m pretty friendly, so feel free to drop by any time.
