DEEP Assessment Registry

We're excited to welcome you to the DEEP guidance on the Assessment Registry. The Assessment Registry is a tool designed to process and analyze existing assessment reports to facilitate retrieval and understanding of needs-related information and identification of gaps. These reports are crucial in managing and responding to humanitarian crises.

Here's a brief of what's new:

Metadata: The Metadata tab in the DEEP Assessment Registry serves as a comprehensive framework for contextualizing assessments, covering essential details such as countries involved, crisis type, and date. It also captures information on preparedness, external support, coordination efforts, assessment type, adherence to guidelines, reporting frequency, confidentiality measures, language accessibility, report length, and stakeholders involved, providing a holistic overview of the collaborative effort behind each assessment.

Additional Documents: The 'Additional Documents' tab in the DEEP Assessment Registry allows users to enrich assessments by including essential supplementary materials such as executive summaries, datasets, questionnaires, maps, and versions in various languages and formats.

Focus: In the 'Focus' tab, you can now categorize assessment data by ticking boxes for specific framework pillars, affected groups, geographic locations, and dedicated paragraphs for each addressed humanitarian sector; if the Protection sector is involved, use the enabled 'Protection Information Management Systems' section for relevant metrics, ensuring concise alignment with key areas of interest.

Methodology: In the 'Methodology' section, elucidate the assessment's procedures, including specific objectives, data collection techniques, sampling methods, and acknowledgment of limitations or biases, providing insight into the findings' validity, reliability, and confidence in the conclusions.

Summary: The Summary tab facilitates the quantification and identification of relevant data by allowing users to assign various categories and subcategories related to DEEP's analytical framework pillars. Users can provide text excerpts summarizing main issues for each category and input key figures, combining qualitative and quantitative components in condensing analytically valuable content.

Score: The 'Score' tab evaluates assessment quality and usability by analyzing report depth, clarity, and credibility, considering evidence, analysis thoroughness, and findings relevance. The new version features separate sub-tabs for scoring Quality and Analytical Density, distinct from the previous 'Score' tab.

CNA: The 'CNA' tab appears in the registry for assessments categorized as 'Coordinated' in the 'Metadata' tab. Users answer 'YES' or 'NO' to Global Public Policy Institute-designed questions evaluating Coordinated, Multi-Sector Needs Assessments, and DEEP aggregates scores from different indicators to generate the CNA score, akin to quality and analytical value scoring.
