The Survey Results
- 76 responses
- Danny took the top 10 to flesh out where we are at with them
- paged content was the top of the list
- Sept sprint planned to bring together some of the work going on around paged content
- Any other “in progress”?
- Multitenancy
- Cary Gordon: request for multi-tenancy but no actual work started ;
- Daniel Bernstein: does this mean many islandora instances sharing a single fedora/solr/blazegraph?
- DB: Is the claw playbook intended for production or is it primarily a testing tool? answer: supposed to be deployable
- Q: can we use ansible to insert paths to point to separate fedora rather than have the playbook spin up a new fedora
- working on how to configure ansible to separate the fedora piece from the rest of the vagrant process
- way to not duplicate microservices? to keep costs down so to have multiple Drupal pointing to one at least have only single fedora and limit the microservices as much as possible, probably still need queues for each drupal but only one service listening
- does it make sense to have the microservices clustered in a multi-tenancy situation or does it make more sense to have a one-to-one relationship between the drupal instance and the microservices, will need further configuration for each microservice to point to each instance.
- start smaller…with just sharing solr?
- scalability question
- Q: can we use ansible to insert paths to point to separate fedora rather than have the playbook spin up a new fedora
- 76 responses
-
- soliciting ideas/use cases for fun/cool things you can do with Islandora 8, to bring in a greater audience, more research based less programming based
-
How are your pilots going?
- Minnie Rangel: update on UT Austin pilot
- in production on Nov 4
- Mark Jordan: putting together a plan to migrate their institutional repository to Islandora 8
- Migrating from a drupal 6 repository
- Ian Stewart: managed to get PDFs indexing using TIKA, search attachments etc. I could see results in Solr and get the entity to return in search results. But have so far failed in getting it to return the rendered PDF.
- with so many people gone probably need to post to the listserv for an answer
- Minnie Rangel: update on UT Austin pilot
-

Fedora multi-tenancy discussed out of order see above during survey discussion
