Managing your settings
The settings section in Keep Posted is where you configure the defaults and basic settings for you and your team.
Depending on your level of access, the settings area may contain different things.
A team member's profile settings contain information that applies to a specific user.

# | Information | How it's used |
---|---|---|
1. | Update profile info from Slack | If Keep Posted is linked to your organization's Slack workspace, profile information can be imported |
2. | Email address | Sending invitations to collaborate, Logins, Password resets |
3. | First name / Last name | Message information, Sending invitations to collaborate, General personalization |
4. | Image | If available, message clip title cards make use of the image of the team member featured in that clip. When a new user is added, the app will attempt to load a profile image from Slack (if there is a Slack workspace connected to the account) or Gravatar |
5. | Password | Logins, Verifying identity |
6. | Change password | Users can update their passwords by expanding this section, specifying a new password, and verifying it |
Everyone can access and edit their own profile information. Administrators or account owners can update parts of other team member's profile information.
Account settings contain information and configuration settings that apply to the entire account. Some settings can have serious consequences if changed, so care should be taken when changing these settings.

# | Information | How it's used |

2. | Subdomain | This is used in the URL for the account. Creating messages and viewing messages both use the subdomain value—This field should not be changed lightly
|

4. | Message Background Image | This optional image will stretch across the background of the page your messages are displayed on. |
Team members with administrator rights can access the account settings.
While Keep Posted is in an exploratory alpha stage, there are no billing settings to manage.
Users contains records of the team members that an administrator or owner has invited to join the account.
You can read more about managing team members here.

- All messages created by the user will be deleted
- Clips assigned to the user by other users will be deleted—note that this does not affect the final output of messages that have already been built
- From the main list of users, click the

, andEmail
- Click
Send an invitation
- The user will be invited and prompted to choose a password and complete their profile information.
*Note: * You may also invite users directly while creating a message.
Topics represent areas of interest that are relevant to your organization. A topic has a list of questions that can be used as prompts for message clips. Additionally, when people view your messages, they will be asked at the end what topics they'd like to hear more about.
*Note: * Topics were originally a core part of the Keep Posted message creation experience. As Keep Posted has evolved, they've come to play a smaller role, and they may be reworked or removed in the future.

# | Item | How it's used |
---|---|---|
1. | Topic title | Identifies the topic. Visible anywhere topics are selected. |
2. | Description | Used to describe the topic and how it may be used. This is visible to message creators, and is not seen by message viewers |
3. | Topic questions | A list of questions associated with the topic. These are the actual prompts for content for a clip. |
4. | Starred topic toggle | Starring a topic gives it priority when a list of topics is suggested to a user. |
5. | Topic visibility toggle | Topics can be hidden. Hidden topics will neither show up as suggestions for message creators, or options for message viewers to vote on. |
6. | Delete topic | Custom topics can be deleted. Deleting a topic will also delete any questions associated with it. Deleting a topic will not affect any messages that have used that topic. |
On the topics settings page you will see a list of default global topics. These are available to all accounts. While you can customize some aspects of them for your account, you cannot delete or rename them. You can, however, hide them if they are not appropriate for your organization.
You can also create new topics. These will be visible on your account only. Use custom topics for items that are specific to your organization.
Each topic can have one or moe topic questions. A topic question has two fields:
Field | How it's used |
---|---|
Subject | This is used as the title for the clip that will be recorded by a team member. |
Notes | This adds some more detail for the question, and will be added to the notes section of the clip. |
Keep Posted can be linked to your organization's Slack workspace, and likely to other applications in the future. The connection and integration settings can be managed here.
Currently, the only integration is with Slack, and there are no options other than connecting and disconnecting your account.
You can adjust your preferences for recording and learn about some of the more advanced recording features on this page.
